Now after the record breaking free fall of Felix Baumgartner from a height of 40km at stratosphere has increased the popularity of the sport.

The jump of felix was done with a lot of preparations, safety measures, oxygen supply etc. He was almost in a space suit during his jump. Feeling not as 'breaking' as you thought.
